Sport

We know that happy and healthy children learn and perform better, so at Eridge House we place a strong emphasis on sport and physical education in both the formal and informal curriculum.

The experience of physical activity in play, recreation, sport, fitness and outdoor environments, provides challenge, personal growth and enjoyment.

The composition of each P.E. lesson is based on the following model;

  • Warm up
  • Skill development
  • Minor game
  • Cool down

The sports offered are;

  • Autumn Term– football, netball
  • Spring Term – tag Rugby, netball
  • Summer Term – tennis, cricket, rounders, athletics
  • Swimming, dance and gymnastics are offered throughout the year

From Year 3 upwards, pupils are encouraged to participate in a team sport. There is a strong emphasis on participation, enjoyment and the development of team and leadership skills. Teams play against other London prep schools in tournaments and matches throughout the year including inter-school House competitions.

As well as all this, we are able to offer other sports including karate, yoga and fencing.
